PSC will appoint the selected candidates as High School teachers in various government High Schools.

Minimum Eligibility To Apply for High School Assistant in Kerala

- High School Assistant Age Limit
- The age limit for Open Category candidates is 18-40 years.
- The upper age limit for OBC candidates is 43 years.
- The upper age limit for SC/ST applicants to apply is 45 years.
- The age limit for Open Category candidates is 18-40 years.
- Minimum Educational Qualifications Required
- A Degree in the concerned subject conferred or recognized by the universities in Kerala.
- Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET)
- B.Ed/B.T/L.T in the same subject conferred or recognized by the universities in Kerala.
- A Degree in the concerned subject conferred or recognized by the universities in Kerala.
Exemptions To the above General Rules
- Candidates do not need KTET if they have qualified CTET /NET /SET /M.Phil /Ph.D./ M.Ed. in the respective subjects
- No age limit for the Departmental High School Laboratory Attenders having a minimum of 5 years of satisfactory service. He must have the prescribed qualification required for an HSA.
- No upper age limit for Teachers of the Government Primary and Nursery Schools who are graduates and are otherwise qualified.
- Upper age limit after allowing the relaxation as per rule should not exceed 50 years of age.
- First Class Scouts and Guides have a preference in the matter of appointment as Teachers.
- Wives of Jawans have the preference in the matter of recruitment as Teachers if they possess the prescribed qualifications.
