Public Service Commission has invited applications from eligible candidates to recruit Range Forest Officer post in Kerala Forest Department. Age limit to apply for Forest Range Officer in Kerala for general category candidates is 19-31 years. Only those having Degree in Forestry can apply. The selected candidates shall be required to undergo Range Forest Officer Course in any one of the Institutions under the Director of Forestry Education, Government of India for a period as prescribed by the Government of India from time to time and one-year practical training. Monthly salary of a Forest Ranger in Kerala is 39500 - 83000 Indian Rupees.

Kerala Forest Range Officer Selection Procedure
Now let us check various stages in the selection of a Ranger in Kerala. It is a three-stage procedure which starts with a written test. Those who are qualified in the competitive written examination will be called for a walking test.

In the walking test, male candidates must cover a distance of 25 (twenty-five) kilometers within four hours on foot and women candidates must cover 16 (sixteen) Kilo Meters on foot within 4 hours. Those who have successfully passed the walking test will be called for interview.

  • Educational Qualification
    A Degree in Forestry from Kerala Agriculture University or any equivalent Degree from any University, Institution or Deemed University recognized by Government of India or Government of Kerala for this purpose.
  • Age limit
    Candidates in 19-31 age limit are eligible to apply for the post with usual age relaxation to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Communities
  • Minimum Height
    Minimum height to apply for Kerala Forest Range Officer post for men is 163 cm and for women, it is 150 cm.
  • Chest – 79 cm (normal) and Chest expansion: 5 cm
